At Home Activities

Day 1: Vocabulary Building Activity: Find a real tree outside or look up a picture of a tree on the internet or in a book. Help your child talk about the different parts of the tree (Leaves, branches, trunk, roots)

Day 2: Motor Skills Activity: Find something in your house your child can make a tree out of (examples;playdough, blocks, legos, paper towel tubes, stack cans of food for the trunk and use fork for the branches and leaves) make trees out of whatever you want. Be creative.

Day 3: Coloring Activity: Encourage your child to draw a tree or several trees. Maybe they can add them to the pictures of houses they were drawing last week. Ask lots of questions about the trees (does anybody live in the tree, how does the tree eat, can the tree move, ect.)

Day 4: Dramatic Play Activity: Find a way to use your imaginations, play pretend in a way that involves trees. Maybe monkeys playing in the trees or explorers looking for something in a forest. Have fun

On Friday repeat your favorite Tree activity or create your own.

Change during a Pandemic

Drop off and Pick up

· Parents will take the child’s temperature and screen for symptom of illness before leaving home.

· All vehicles must be turned off and keys brought with you when bringing your child to the door.

· Any person accompanying a child must wear a face mask while dropping off and picking up.

· Anyone who enters a Head Start building will be screened for the symptoms of the Pandemic illness.

· Parents/person dropping off need to bring check list sheet regarding the Child’s health each day.

· Anyone picking up a child must be on the emergency contact list and have a picture ID to show staff.

· Your Vehicle must be turned off and Keys brought with you when assisting your child into their car seat.
